Hunting with eagles is a traditional form of falconry found throughout the steppe of Eurasia.

Canadian photographer Kevin Frayer travels to the Northwest mountains of Qinghe County, Xinjiang uncovering the secluded lives of the Kazakh eagle hunters.

They embrace development and new technology, yet demonstrate a knack for maintaining tradition through these modern times; some natives do own cars but still prefer riding horses when going out on a hunt.

These riveting photos give the world a look at this historic piece of Central Asian culture.
