As if dog and baby tag teams don’t look awesome enough, photographer Grace Chon brings cuteness to explosive levels. (If we were Buzzfeed, I guess we would say, “Gnaaaaaaww” or “Ooooooooooo” or whatever. You get it.)
Chon is a former art director at an advertising agency and has combined her ad background with her passion for photography. Today, the Los Angeles-based photographer creates crisp and stunning portraits of people and animals for various companies, publications, NGOs and celebrities.
But when she embarked on a pet (pun intended) project involving her little boy Jasper, and her rescued dog Zoey, little did she expect the set of photos to go viral, which in turned introduced her to a woman named Joy.
“Thanks to all of you who’ve shared these images around the world, something truly amazing has happened. I have cried so many tears of gratitude in the last 24 hours because I connected with Joy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” Grace Chon
Joy, who volunteered at an animal rescue shelter, had fostered Zoey in Taiwan seven years ago after a student rescued the puppy and its siblings and took them over to Joy’s house. Joy nursed them back to health and found them homes, but kept Zoey and fostered the puppy herself as she was the runt and the sickliest. But Joy’s love was short-lived after she had to move to China for a new job.
Zoey made it to America and found a home with Chon and when her Jasper x Zoey photos made their rounds around the world, Chon began receiving mysterious emails.
“It turns out this mysterious lady named Joy not only knew my baby – she was her FOSTER MOM! Through a series of chats and emails, I’m starting to piece this puzzle together,” Chon wrote in her blog.
“I always knew Zoey was loved and well taken care of while in Taiwan, I just felt it. And speaking with Joy has only confirmed how much love and care she received before she came to me,” she added.
ALL PHOTOS & CAPTIONS BELONG TO GRACE CHON. RESPECT!
