Ciqikou, Chongqing is known for many things. Porcelain wares, thousand-year-old structures, age-old culture that lives on today, and so on.

Naturally, the ancient town has no lack of surprises, but you still wouldn’t expect an old pushcart seller spinning an intricate flower out of candy floss.

That’s precisely what you’ll find in the old town of Ciqikou.

Giving new meaning to “street art”, the candy floss peddler takes a mere 2 minutes to create her sugar treat.

Starting with a simple yellow blob on a wooden stick, she goes on to add more layers of cotton candy in white, red, green and blue, using a thinner stick to gingerly create elaborate petals.

The result is a massive diabetes-inducing candy floss bloom – we don’t recommend you finish it in one seating.
