With a 1,500-year history, Shaolin Kung Fu – also known as Shaolin Wu Shu – is among the oldest institutionalised styles of Chinese martial arts.

They spend copious amounts of time training – practising techniques centered around balance, strength, endurance and self-defense.

Not forgetting the ability to endure excruciating amounts of pain without flinching.

The Shaolin monks believe this fortitude resonates from within the individual. The teachings stress on expanding your mind and striving towards total control of your body – once you do so, they believe there’s no limits as to what you can do!

These breathtaking images will leave you speechless. As we get a rare glimpse into the lives of these monks, let’s take a step back from our own and appreciate the patience, determination and self-control these incredible people possess.
